Preparing for motherhood

This birth preparation course aim to give expecting parents the knowledge they need to help them reflect upon pregnancy, delivery and their future roles as parents.

This way pregnancy and giving birth can be an elating and gratifying process in our lives and the lives of our children.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To prepare yourself physically and emotionally for the birth of your baby.
  • To foster your active participation during delivery and that of the person that will accompany you.
  • To provide you with information about the entire reproductive process.
  •  To share maternity experiences with other women.
  •  To help fathers take part in their partners’ pregnancy and birth-giving processes.

CONTENT:

Our birth preparation courses are two-fold : PREGNANCY YOGA CLASSES and a more informative curriculum on the following TOPICS : Breathing. Using the power of the mind and the effectiveness of visualization during labor and delivery. Couple massage during pregnancy. Physical and emotional changes during pregnancy. Motherhood and fatherhood. Stages of labor and delivery. A guide for fathers and mothers for each stage. Simulation of labor and delivery. Medical interventions. C-sections. Epidural. World Health Organization recommendations. The rights of mothers and newborns. Breast-feeding. Lactation. Maternal care of infants…

  • GROUP SESSIONS : 8 2-hour weekly sessions
  • INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS : a COUPLE COACHING adapted to your needs and availability.
  • PREGNANCY YOGA ONLY
  • THEORETICAL CLASSES ONLY 

WHEN? Yoga exercises are recommended from the first trimester to the very last day of pregnancy! The theoretical classes, when taken individually, are recommended from the fourth month and during the last three months of pregnancy.
